I mix epoxy by weight. One 4x8 sheet takes approximately 286 grams of epoxy to coat both sides and edges.

What is the point of this? Does it just make the plywood stronger? Does it also waterproof the wood? I just made a kayak and I haven't decided how I am going to seal it yet. Either epoxy or stain.
