I took Charlie outside for some pictures with the snow and figured I'd get a video, too!

  • they can get cold?

  • @MPSecare Birds can't catch a cold, and Charlie was not outside long enough for the cold to effect him negatively. He actually enjoyed being outside, preening himself, and exercising a bit.

  • Woa! awesome! All your bird should be happy, with a guy like u. Your cherry head carrots ever had yellow feathers? Do they speak?

  • I'm a woman actually. The one in the video above is a mitred conure (aratinga mitrata) and the other conure (bare stomach) is a cherry head conure (aratinga erythrogenys). Only the mitred can fly, and speak. Neither one have ever had yellow feathers, and both are 15+ years old. Besides yours, I've never seen any other of these species or similar with yellow feathers.

  • MFids - you're awesome. Love this vid, and all the stuff you do to educate bird owners about keeping parrots safe and healthy!

  • I looked it up. It looks a lot like an Aviator, except it incorporates a buckle so the harness can be detached from the leash.

  • I only found out about Kaylor Collar through chance and looking up my vet on Google!

  • Phoenix wears a flightsuit, at my mother's insistence.

Yes, the Aviator is good! Easy on and off, good for flying with, and very easy to adjust. I like to take him for walks/flights a LOT.

Don't know about the Kaylor, though. Never heard of it.

  • I would like an Aviator but can't really afford one... Feather Tethers don't restrain them, but I've heard plenty the Aviator is better. There's also the Flight Suits (aka birdy diapers) and the Kaylor Collar (less heard of, but suppose to be good)

  • I though Feather Tethers restrained birds from flying.

    I myself have an Aviator.
