what a beautiful song...

Chris first sang this lovely tune while with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. I wore out several 78 RPM records of this recording.

Great tune to listen to late at night

Truly the most under-rated of all the jazz singers of any era. I stiil have her LP "CHRIS" fifty years on.......RIP Lovely One.

When I finally met Chris Connor, a lifelong dream, I told her she had changed many lives with her music. She told me she'd heard that many times and read it many times in her fan mail and she appreciated it. I don't know what I expected but in a way she proved a surprise. Not some hip jazz singer but a very all-American sweetheart type, lovely and calm, totally natural a really with no trace of show business in her persona. And beautiful! She knocked me out!

She actually did two recordings of "All About Ronnie" with Kenton. The American single was the second session; the first went on several Japanese C.D.s. She then did the song for Bethlehem, then recorded it live for Atlantic and then did a studio version for Atlantic that got released only in Japan. Every version was different!

You an' me Jazz4Joe; you an' me....Remember that "blazing" interlude in the middle of the song when Maynard Fergusen played? Funny how it seems that certain people were "born" to sing certain songs? ( A case in point; Jackie Paris and, "Skylark"..............) miss her...Andre Black

Chris and June Christy got us all started.

impeccable in many ways. Love the intervals in parts of the vocals.
One of the great Jazz singers of all time.
We'll miss her. 11/8/27 - 8/29/09
RIP Chris
