"Twilight Eyes" was the first single of Sidi Bou Said in 1993.

Biography (from Wikipedia) : Sidi Bou Said were a London based rock band, who existed during the 1990's. Their music combined an indie rock/folk sound with complex arrangements and literate lyrics. They were often compared to Throwing Muses and the Pixies, with whom they shared a taste for sometimes uncomfortable lyrical themes - murder, religion, the workings of the human body and surrealist stories and films. Their name comes from a town in Tunisia.

Sidi Bou Said had two albums produced by members of Cardiacs and are regular contributors to their stage shows and recordings. In recent years, the band have reformed under the name, "Tetra," and played a reunion gig on 15th December 2005, again using the Sidi Bou Said name.

  • How I envy you, Colonel ! I still believe I have a particular understanding of Claire (we share the same traumas), but back then I wanted to shelter and soothe (and get ridden by) all the Sidi girls!

  • Ah, back in the days when MTV played music...still have it on 7" but it's a treat to see the video again - cheers!

  • Nice looking place , I wonder if this Video was filmed in the Ballroom in Brockley south east London

  • I had mad crushes on this band, indie guitar chicks give me the horn...

I remember going to see them play in Birmingham aaages ago (93? 94?) when I was about 17, they invited us backstage and gave us loads of beers. aaah, memories!

  • I agree, it is a great tune though, I have this on a 12" somewhere, it must be worth a fortune!!

  • It's a shame the sound is pretty bad, although the sounds are pretty good.

  • Claire Lemmon ...Marlene Dietrich with a Les Paul...that`s a good thing.
