Skyrim - Becoming the Thieves Guild Master... or not

Now this bug sucks.

You can fix this by typing "setStage TGLeadership 40" into the console, but miss the ceremony speeches. Also killing a member of the Thieves Guild set this quest completed, but that's not a very nice thing to do.

I have the same problem and I tried everything except the console commands, because I don't know how they work. But they just stand around there saying they will talk to me after the ceremony, which never happens...I want that achievment...

@CplNichols Console commands work only on PC. Try killing a guild member.

i never even got this mission i finished the night and gale quests and nothing about the guild or anything which is stupid because they said after all of this id be the guild master
