I've read a number of somewhat negative comments and I wanted to say while I think this is significantly different from Elliott's original, I think this interpretation is really awesome. You really made it more of an original cover, if that's an understandable term. I adore the original but this was a great cover of the way you personally envisioned the song. Great job.

I think its stupid to cover such a loved song of smith's. cos people are loyal to elliott and love him forever. even so, this is a cool cover cos you did something of your own to it. I dont mind this cover at all!!!! (still like it as a just cover, though)

Everyone does this flat, It's nice to see someone do it a bit differently. If it wasn't for people doing covers with a different style, we'd never have Manfred Mann's 'Blinded By the Light' or Iron and Wine's 'Such Great Heights'.
Good cover Louisa - could do without the buzz on the recording though. ;-)
