Sony Net-Sharing Cam Video

Video footage of Gray Whale Cove, a beach near Pacifica, south of San Francisco. Footage was shot with the Sony GC1 Net-Sharing Cam. Compare it to the same scene, more or less, shot with the Flip Video Ultra Footage video, also posted in my YouTube channel. The Sony camcorder has a much stronger zoom.

Can you swivel the lcd screen to the front so when you camcord yourself you can view yourself at the same time on the lcd screen

Yes you can. That's one thing I like about this camcorder vs the Flip. But keep in mind you won't be able to see yourself, or much else, on the screen in bright sunlight conditions.

youtube and windows movie maker do not recognise mp4 format of nsc gc1. Any advice on how to convert the format?

You might consider buying Adobe Premiere Elements 4. It's a great consumer-level video editing software program that converts lots of video formats. And you can upload directly to YouTube in the Flash format, which is what YouTube converts videos to anyway.

hey i was wondering if this cam is good for recording my freinds surf while being on the sand but just touching the water, and is it good quality when you zoom in , oh btw wat would you give this cam outa 10 for vid quality?

I don't really recommend this camcorder because the video quality isn't all that good. Also, you can't read the screen very well in sunlight--which could be a problem for you recording friends surfing. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.

I love it and have it, check my vids by searching my name; however I can't find the right program to work it....

And I'm 13, I've made a little movie with friends and I can't upload it.. Any TRIAL/FREE video editor's that will let you upload Mp4's...

good thing about this is liIon batts, the thing i hate is how the camera zooms, i love the flip camera because when you zoom it goes smothley, i hate flip because it limits you recoding time while the sony you just switch memory sticks and go

both off them are good cheap youtube cameras,

I have the net sharing cam and i think it takes awsome videos and it can also take still images and regular photos which the flip cannot. The only problem about it is that it is hard to find a video editor to edit your videos but other than that it is great!
