Motown's Velvelettes were from Kalamazoo, and came to Motown's V.I.P label in 1964, here i play the b-side to Needle In A Haystack, Should I Tell Them, which was recorded before Betty Kelly left them for The Vandellas to replace Anette Sterling

what ever it says on the wiiter credits, the song was written by the Velvelettes.....but others came along and added their parts.

Actually its because her husband wouldnt let her go to Europe on the Motortown revue, thats what i heard, but ill have to ask her

The Velvelettes eluded major stardom(even though they could sing most of their competition under a table) They had identity problems;Their name sounded too much like the Marvelettes-And Martha Reeves kept borrowing members from this group to join her Vandellas.

Wow! I have this record at home, but never have played the flip side. Now, after hearing it, you can best believe I'm going to play the heck out of it. I think this side was good enough to have been a hit in its own right. Cal Gill's vocals really stand out on this one, and you gotta love that harmony!
