To play on the d string on the first note i easier, but it´s sounds better on the a string

When i start this song i start on the d string . a lot of the videos i see on youtube, the musician starts on the a string. Which way is preferred?

I prefer using the A-String. sounds better, bigger sound...and then, its easier for the first scale , at least, for me. o.o
