I think the thing to consider here is the genius of Elton's music. To be honest you could read out a "shopping list" over the top of something like "Levon" & it would still sound amazing!

I have long said that Bernie Taupin is on of the luckiest men on the planet. I'm sure if Elton had put his mind to it he would have been able to knock out some pretty credible lyrics & saved himself a few hundred mill in split royalties. With Bernie you take lyrics like "Jesus blows up balloons all day!"

No, Elton is gay and composed the music but his regular lyricist Bernie Taupin (who is straight) wrote the words, and the expression is like "oh boy", not aimed specifically at a boy.
