April 16:
In a state that once was its own nation, a Republican governor who talked about secession without completely dismissing the idea has Democratic lawmakers in an uproar.

Gov. Rick Perry, in comments following an anti-tax "tea party" Wednesday, never did advocate Texas breaking away from the United States but suggested that Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to leave the union. That was enough to feed opinions for and against secession on Web sites, cable TV and talk radio across the nation.

At the Texas Capitol on Thursday, Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco, joined by several fellow Texas House Democrats, said some people associate talk of secession with racial division and the Civil War and that Perry should disavow any notion of seceding.

  • If Texas leaves, I hope it takes us here in Tennessee with it

  • I support Texas. But please take Oklahoma with you. I don't want to be left in the cold north.

  • To bad rick perry is a peice of shit.

  • Well I'm a Brit and I'm not too sure about US politics, but if Texas believes it should leave the US then put it to a referendum.

  • @pluto4847 I agree! We Texans don't like you and you don't like us. Why not work together to help us leave? Tell all your liberal friends to support secession. It means 2 less GOP senators and about 20 less GOP congressmen. Why wouldn't liberals support that?

We Texans can have a religious, capitalist society, and Yankees can have a atheist, socialist state.

    Win, win.

  • @Cyrus255

YEAH! Leave the Union you fucking Texans!

I say the sooner the better!

Well, what are you Texan Pussy's waiting for it! Do it, or don't waste our fucking time!

  • @wtong89 I agree. They should.

Local government is always better than a government that is 2,000 miles away from you and doesn't listen to the will of the people.

  • @Cyrus255

If Texas really wants it leave, it would have left already. Based on the tax benificary list, I think the negative beneficiary would leave the union rather than just conservative states. There are more blue states that have negative beneficiary than red states, so If anything, California, New Jersey and NY should leave the union.

  • @wtong89 Anyways, I moved to capitalist China now and have a successful business so I won't come back to the USA anytime soon so I don't care. The USA is going to be destroyed. The USA will die from debt in a few years anyways.

I just hope Texas leaves before the USA falls economically. Save yourself before it's too late.

  • @wtong89 Texas is a "tax donor state". Texas only gets 92% to 94% of their tax money back depending on the tax year. You are not properly informed. Just simply google "Texas tax donor state" and you can find the facts.

And yes, if Texas leaves the USA will be governed by Democrats, like now. The rest of the conservative states will also leave if Texas does because of that.
