  • not much of a fan of SG's. probably just the p'ups in all of the ones i've tried. but the ones i've played have WAYYYY too much midrange. deludes the tone of the guitar imo. but i do think yours looks killer. looks like those EMGs were made for it. very beautiful. can't comment on the tone because of youtube deluding the quality but hell, they're EMGs... you can't go too wrong with them if it's mahogany and a solidbody.

  • @TheMetalHeaD256 yeah, it does have a little mid in it, but the bridge pickup is sooooo hot.. this is one of those guitars that i can get harmonics all over the damn place when im not even trying to do so... thanks for the comment for sure!

  • hey i also have a epiphone sg 400. I'm having sustain problems, do you find that these pick ups give more sustain on the higher frets?

  • @ShadowShooter85 simple answer.... YES...

  • I meant to say the solderless wires seem to be short not shot. I have an 81 in my BC Rich and it's solderless. I had to get more wires and addpter things for em to make it work.

  • @JohnathenDavis i have the old ones i soldered em all in... they include a cool wiring diagram thats very helpful if you get confused... id rather just have a 12 dollar soldering iron than buy connectors.. anywho i think the screws for the pickup mounting and height adjustment were a little long so i maybe drilled a tiny bit int the body so they would fit... the pickups themselves fit just fine in the stock humbucker rings. only downside is i had to find a place for the battery...

  • I have the G-400 1966 Limited and I am wondering if it is worth it to get these pickups... let me know asap thanks

  • thanks for vid :).

sometimes I think you don't even have to have a guitar made of an excellent material when you have EMGs. EMGs sound good on anything :)

  • hey awesome guitar im thinking of getting the same on,i was just wondering if this guitar has a real thick baseball bat neck?????

  • Yes thank you. I just measured my EMG screws in my SG and they're just believe it or not. I didn't have to buy the connectors, they were just lying around. It's not that I can't solder it's just it's more convenient if I wanna swap the 81&85. Thanks a million. I love this review by the way.
