Throw It All Away Broken Remix (Mashup)

The vocal theme of Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2, "Throw It All Away" by Everett Bradley... mixed with the Levitated Ruins level theme from Sonic and the Secret Rings, "High and Broken." Wow, that was a mouthful.

It takes a lot of work to make two songs work together... but do you want to know my secret?

I use a video editing program, like Adobe Premiere. The audio files are treated as "block" objects, and can be split, copied, and moved with ease. And on the 30 frames-per-second timescale, you're guaranteed to be able to line up songs on the beat. Audio editing programs like Audacity and Adobe Soundbooth don't give you that kind of flexibility.

I still use Audacity to do the tempo changing (pre-mix) and sound balancing (post-mix), but I choose to do the actual mix-and-matching in Adobe Premiere. That's my method.

Actually, Audacity's beta let's you do split delete, split insert, normal split, drag, and remove voices. I like it because i can try to match soundwaves on high-zoom.

This works great! Would you care to share your BPM list? I have to tap them out and round the BPM, so I don't think i'm getting them precise, which leads to some splitting and dragging to realign the tracks at key points.

@CyanBlur Just look for a free BPM analyzer. If you Google it, MixMeister will be the first one, and that's the one I use.

What i LOVE 'bout this one is how you make "high and broken" a little more subtle (sorry if i misspelled) and smooth to the point it complements perfectly "Throw it all away" givin' it a more tragic hero esque feeling, which is how shadow is after the events of SA2, nice job, i think you capture his essence quite well
