I Will Be Waiting For You - David And The Giants (sensitive subject material)

Child abuse, neglect and murder is so prevalent within our society it has almost become normal to hear about it on the news every day. I often wonder what God thinks when He sees what humanity allows. Being a survivor of extreme child abuse myself, this topic is dear to my heart. I do not know what we can do to make a change in the lives of the people who do these things, but ignoring it and hoping it will go away won't work.
It is a truth to be certain that if everyone was to listen to God then this sort of thing would cease to happen, unfortunately not all people want to listen to what He has to say, so where does that leave us in regard to finding a cure for this problem?

I made this video to this beautiful song by David And The Giants. The words of the song are in contrast to the video in a lot of places, but it is meant to be that way.

64% of abused children die at the hands of their abusers, whether it be from injury and/or neglect.
36% survive.

Why was I in the 36%? Not sure, all I know for sure is that God was with me that entire time and maybe I survived to share this message with others from the point of view of someone who has been there. Although many have been here, few are willing to speak about it publicly because when it is those who are supposed to love and protect you who abuse and neglect you, it leaves you with questions that you can never answer and scars that, although they fade, they never completely disappear.
They can make you or they can break you.

I didn't think it right to make this video without giving a reason. The following is my reason.

I understand just a little of the suffering endured by some of the children in this video. My step father beat me and worse from the day I was born. When I was four he almost ended my life. When I was five, he left.

I was systematically beaten and, to an extent, tortured by my birth mother.
She alos beat me and starved me. She deliberately slammed my fingers in a door amongst other things that are just too horrible to share with anyone. She isolated me by most of the time by locking me in a room. She told my siblings that I had bad blood and that if they got too close to me I would poison them and they would become bad like me. My siblings were encouraged also to be my abusers and thus they were.
She told me that I had no right to be born, that I should have been born dead and that one day she was going to kill me. She said it all the time and I heard it so much that although it held meaning, it began to lose its impact.
Finally my mother locked me in the room permanently with the intent of leaving me there to die. If the authorities hadn't come and gotten me when they did, it would have been the end of me.
It took just over a year for a relatively normal state of physical health to return to me after I was removed from my abuser. My mother.

By the grace of God I survived the first seven years of my life that was filled with emotional, physical and psychological violence and abuse.
But I survived.

I am thankful to God that I am here today. That I am alive.

I do not hate my abusers, although it leaves its scars, I mostly pity their inability to feel empathy for children.
Most of the children in this video were not as lucky as I was. They didn't survive. I pray God keeps them in His tender care.

I also pray that if you think that you see a child being abused, I mean that you REALLY believe it to be so, then do not take the attitude that it is none of your business. It IS your business and you never know, you might actually help a child join the 36%. If you do nothing, chances are the child will join the 64%.

I pray that God gives us the wisdom and the strength to do the right thing at the right time.

In the older times people lived in communities where neighbor helped neighbor! Now a days...we have social services to pick up the pieces. It is sad! But we must pray and try to keep a care ror others... But watch out for the new vigilante type campaigns that have us all telling on our neighbor...this is westertn world NWO take over propaganda. We need to stay aware of all of us being manipulated... Terrorism is being used to bring in bad movements...watch out.

having been an EMT, I have been called on to scenes with abused children. I know that it was a very difficult thing not to go after the abuser(s) myself. I know that God will see His judgement but so many children are abused and in so many ways. Father forgive us , please forgive us for hurting your children...

Thank you for this moving video. I couldn't hold back the tears. The video of the girls tied to toilet chairs was a cut from the documentary "The Dying Rooms", right? Absolutely heartbreaking. I wish I could save some of these children. :(

Man, that's a powerful video. I can't stand to see any child hurting and I could barely watch this because of the hurt in their eyes. Thankfully Jesus is there to love them but we should love them while they are here. Thanks for the post.

Other than that -- great video it raises awareness which is always a plus.
