Ultra Brightview uses 2 CCFL lamps. In return it gives you 500nits of brightness. Compared to the regular Brightview screen which gives you approx 220nits of brightness

and the design for cooling is pretty shitty very easy to overheat if you dont clean the fan every month and for that you need to take the laptop apart so its not worth it and it will kill the warenty its just stupid and its a heavy laptop but it got cool stuff like blue ray and shit neways mine does but nah im rly not satisfied when im buying somthing that worth 1500 to 2000 $ im looking at quality not accesories

or u can use the spdif port, then u have to change sound device and have a optical cable in the minijack port. that will work on the z-5500 as i do that

one thing i dont like about this laptop is that the hard drive gets extremely hot during gaming.

68 C - scorching.

but then again. my dv9500t has been running on like a constant basis.

well theres an advantage with ultra brightview. Its outdoor viewable and its great for any tasks. if its too bright for typing papaers you can lower the screens brightness. i have no issues using it on my lap but it mostly sits on my desk

I am considering ordering an HP dv9700 with the ultra brightview screen. I read one post on a website that said it was too bright to use in dimly lit places. Is it too bright to use for things like typing a paper in a lower light situation? Also, is a 17 inch laptop actually comfortably usable on a lap?
