Another version of Wilson Pickett's 'Midnight Hour', this time by the Messengers (also known as the 'Milwaukee Messengers' to recognise this particular lineup) the picture is from a previous lineup. Recorded in 1967 on Chicago's USA label. The band was later signed to Motown records.
here's the records' lineup:
Jeff Taylor: vocals, percussion
Greg Jeresek: bass
Peter Barans: guitar
Augie Jurishica: drums
Jessie Roe: organ
I got the guitarist at the bar in front of me right now. Thanks for turning me on. This is kickass!

I really like this raw and honest track. I´m a big fan of music from the 60s. I´m lucky that I found you on youtube. A tip! Check up some other great unknown bands from the mid 60s.
THE GANTS "Greener Days"
THE ZETTLERS "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah".
THE GOLLIWOGS "Tell me".

Yes, the MESSENGERS story is very confusing. They had several different incarnations over the span of almost 9 years. The one factor that remained the same was their leader, Greg Jeresek, who both played in the group (bass) as well as produced most of their recordings.
