  • This is a law from the 1920s that was put into place because the states were missing out on taxing the profit from the seller. Most states have since done away with these laws. Selling tickets for the fan is no different than selling an antique or a piece of art. Selling tickets for scalpers and brokers IS different because most that are in it professionally are paying taxes anyway.

  • Sadly, it's perfectly legal for the University to scalp the sale of the season tickets next year.
