sometimes I forget how profound Au Hasard Balthazar is... how perfect...
I often prefer films that capture a few days' moments to those that chart a life. but Bresson's understanding of visual, thematic, aural, and character unities transcends time. furthermore, it is so suitable to this story, this parable about (for one thing) people's refusal to change.
there is nothing else like it. so simple, with the elegiac piano, it only intrudes if you let it -- like Balthazar himself

Schubert andBresson go together. Both simple but full of this need - faith and simple living. How Bresson lived to 98 and Sch only 31 not a surprise.did he coem from rich or poor family. How did this man support himseldwith so few films.Like Dreyer i must find his story.

I shed my physical being and immerse myself into the beauty that is this film everytime I watch it.
