Calgary protests against George W. Bush visit. March 17, 2009. Snipers watched over Bush while on Canadian soil. No one in Calgary appreciated that they shut down DEERFOOT TRAIL at RUSH HOUR for him.

  • Albertans (especially Calgarians) proudly call themselves "redneck Albertans". Many Albertans call for Alberta to separate from Canada. Therefore I can't see why these people were not happy to have George W. Bush visiting them.

  • @SnowbirdFlock

redneck just means a hard working average guy with a redneck from the sun and working outside.( though sometimes its meant as an insult) Bush was never a redneck, he was a silver spooned Daddy's boy not a hard working average joe, Alberta never said they wanted to separate alone, they want to take the other western provinces with them, and the only said THAT because Quebec is always screaming theyre going to "run away from home".

  • @Susiehm OK, that may all be true. But there's 1 other thing: the Albertans I've talked to have said separatist Albertans don't want to take BC with them. They look down on BC, and I've been told Albertans call BC "a Communist country".

  • @SnowbirdFlock *L* I have never heard such a thing *S* Communist? Maybe cause of ICBC *BG* No one wants to take on anything that is badly in debt. BC is just that. But this is all bullhockey I swear.. *S* Only way the west will separate is if Quebec does.. and only because the west knows Ottawa will bend over to bribe Quebec back. Cause thats what they do now, and sooner or later no amount of money will be enough. I wish Quebecers were team players (Canada) but it sure seems they are not :(

  • @Susiehm Sadly, the Americans have got us completely beaten here; they will stick together thru thick & thin, but not Canadians. We're anything BUT united, and we're literally a very "provincially-minded" people (no I don't support special favours for any provinces). I've even seen that Nova Scotians dislike New Brunswickers.

  • @SnowbirdFlock Americans also have blinders on. Just try to tell them ANYTHING is wrong with their country. Someone they love could die because of their health care system or their war, and they will still defend to the end that its GREAT. How can you fix or improve something if you refuse to see that it's broken? *S* You know they've far more propaganda than we have. Its like they are brainwashed that their country is the best. Its far from that. Their people's health is not a priority.

  • CHARGE b u s h FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY!!!

  • Bush needs to be arrested and tried for his many crimes against humanity. The police obviously work for the New World Order of Criminals and Murderers. Those police should arrest Bush and company not the protesters.
