Hey alldragster, get over it already! If the Gas engine had a turbo to keep up with th diesel, it would get spanked even more on MPG. Diesels rule and america is veeeeery slowly waking up about their benefits. Let me know when you see a gas engine powered Semi......now that would be TRASH !!

my 2009 X5 w/ diesel has 265hp, 5 more than the gas, HOWEVER it has 2 times the torque. Its 1 second faster 0-62 than its comparable 6 cylinder. If gas engines where so powerful, theyd put them in trains and huge Tanker ships. IDIOT

You're wrong.
Consuming more air doesn't make sense. What does that even mean? We're not running out of air.
Diesel and especially biodiesel put out significantly less carbon than gas.
Gasoline engines typically have more horsepower and a less torque. It's a nonissue.
Diesel engines also last longer.
