Clip from SLADE's "Flame" movie, this is probably where spinal tap got the idea from, or at least the same story, which obviously came from Screamin' Lord Sutch's stage act.
Here's Noddy (Stoker) singing with rival band The Undertakers doing a Screaming Lord Such thing..."Flame" allthough made in the early 70's was really a document of the realities of mid 60's band life. Check out their manager who is soooo Don Arden.
yes who is playing that organ - jimmy?

dude I gotta tell you that the Spinal Tap gimmick where the bassdude gets stuck in the iceberg is a mockery of Angel's stage show... Angel was an american band discovered by Gene Simmons in the mid 70's and then signed to KISS' same label, Casablanca. Among Angel's many theatrics, was a stage entrance not unlike Spinal Tap's.

Never seen it, but a fan of the record. And I can see the Spinal Tap inspirations here. Cool clip. Gonna rent this film.
