Ahmed Ghailani became the first terrorism suspect at Guantanamo Bay to receive a fair trial in a civilian court. After about a week the jury found him guilty on one charge. Ghailani will most likely spend the rest of his life in a humane prison. This is perhaps the first step on a staircase to the clouds as far as actually closing the illegal torture facility.

@lokkentoons:Waterboarding did not produce the information that led to the capture of Bin Laden!
According to the associated press "Khalid Sheik Mohammed did not discuss [Bin Ladens courier] while being subjected to the simulated drowning technique known as waterboarding... He acknowlage knowing him many months later under standard interrogation"
Get your facts straight!

I'm glad they didn't close it down, waterboarding worked. We got Bin Laden using it.

@2Majesties So if there's a conviction, you're proven correct. If they acquit, you're also proven correct. Heads you win, tails they lose.

I have confidence in the US justice system. If there are outright acquittals, it'll be because of the tainting of evidence by BushCheney torture. And that's as it should be. The rule of law should prevail.
I appreciate your maturity on this issue. This is important stuff...
