Jessie died MANY years ago. Probably soon after the film. My guess is 1983ish. It is the popular belief that she was killed in jail, but the actual details are unknown. She was an enigma.. she never shared many details about her original (pre-"Jessica") identity.

"Sherry North" is still around. The last time I saw him myself was at gay pride Boston a few years ago. He was a full-out MAN and a pretty HOT one, at that. He recogized me immediately and brushed me off pretty quickly when I said hello

I have several friends who have also seen him recently in the clubs. Judging from the muscles and the masculine appearance, it would seem as though he is no longer crossdressing, and as far as I know, settled down into life as a gay man and does not often speak of our "past".

I have put out a few feelers, just because I think he might like to see this clip. He has probably forgotten all about it.

There are a few of us, mostly those of us in Alcoholics Anonymous. As you probably already know, drugs and booze is a MAJOR factor in keeping many young gay men in the world of prostitution and drag life. As Jessie always says.. what else is a runaway transexual without a high school diploma going to do? (read: to get money to get high and forget about what I did to get the money)

Oh my GOD. Sherry North and Jessica!

I met these two queens in 1978 when I first hit the streets. They were kind, considerate, loving, and kept a watchful eye on me. They kept me safe and protected me when I was VERY young and stupid.

I left the streets in 1980 and I don't know what happened to either of them. I want anyone who watches this video to know that they were jaded and world-worn, yes, but I might have died had it not been for their kindness and concern.
