  • Man you need some more power in that!

  • Blacklamass - Trust me there is no lack of power in this bike. It can easily hit 50 mph or more, but then we wouldn't be able to turn. As in a real bike you have to force it to turn and if you never slow down you will just go straight or topple over. These are difficult to maneuver compared to a normal RC vehicle.

  • @Batoidea

I've viewed many vids but still can't understand how they turn in. How do you get them to lean over one side instead of just flipping over when you steer. Does it have some sort of weight transfer or is it just the wonders of a special steering geometry. What gets them to tilt sideways! I'm astonished, I'm supposed to be a mechanics guru and this has me wondering far too much.

  • corotor12345 - The physics are the same as a real motorcycle or bicycle. For an example, get on your bike and build up some speed. Now without leaning your body steer the bike to the left; the bike will now bank to the right and go right. It is counter intuitive which is why you have to try it. You steer left to go right and steer right to go left. This only happens when you are going fast. What you are doing is removing the forward stabilization and causing it to bank left or right for a turn.

  • @Batoidea The physics aren't exactly the same, for example on my R6 i turn right to go left, however you do not do that on a rc bike. you cant use counter steering a bike because you can not give pressure to your handlebars, its sheer gyro leaning.

  • @CaseyCCL - The physics are exactly the same. The steering servo is the same as you putting pressure on the handlebars. When I turn the handlebars to the right, the bike goes to the left. Get our your rc bike and try this. You might be thinking about the bikes that just move weight and use the gyroscopic forces to make the bike turn. The Nuova Faor bikes and many others actually use a servo move the handlebars. Thanks for posting.

  • @Batoidea Np, i am just talking about rc bikes, i got a rc toy which works like a typical car. Im sure your correct about the Nuova Faor Bikes.

  • Thanks. I guess once you've turned it over you can steer the right way and tighten your radius? Anyways, I want to custom build one of these... and I've been considering studying the effects of gyros' and weight transfer to more effectively control the bike. That way I can lean it in as I turn the right way and not countersteering away.

  • If you adjust the steering by adding the stiffer springs in the steering damper it will turn at speed, I know you have to slow down to turn but in this vid you are not showing what the bike can do in a straight line, I run mine on a 7700kv and 2 cell lipo and is very fast.

    Cheers

  • 0boy00 - As ConsumerFanatics said they do wok just like real bikes, but have skid bars on the side to keep you from leaning the bike to far which can cause you to spin out and damage the body. With practice you can also wright the bike when it has fallen over.
