The Boston College Eagles led by Matt Ryan stormed into Death Valley and pulled out another amazing victory.

Despite 2 consecutive ACC losses, Matt Ryan and the Eagles found themselves visiting the Clemson Tigers with a trip to the conference championship on the line. Down 10-3 in the third quarter, BC's Heisman candidate led the offense on a game-tying drive, hitting on key passes to Rich Gunnell, Andre Callender and Ryan Purvis... landing the Eagles at the Clemson 2 early in the fourth. James McCluskey finished the job from there, running it in to even the score at 10-apiece. Shortly thereafter, a Clemson turnover resulted in a BC field goal and a 13-10 lead for the maroon and gold.
After Clemson QB Cullen Harper's 4-yard run put the Tigers on top again, the table was set for another nail-biting finish. Facing a 4-point deficit with just 5-and-a-half minutes to go in one of the toughest environments in all of college football, Ryan gathered his offense for a potential game-winning drive. Number 12 converted on 2 crucial third downs, completing a 12-yard pass to Clarence Megwa on 3rd-and-8, then on 3rd and 7, dropped back and spotted Gunnell wide-open down the sideline... (TD sound-up)...
The Eagles were ahead 20-17, but with 1:46 to go, Clemson had one last shot at stealing the title-game berth. After failing to find the endzone, the Tigers attempted a 54-yard field goal, but it fell short as the game clock hit zeros, and Ryan and the Eagles clinched their first ACC championship appearance... (going to ACC championship sound-up)
The Heisman hopeful finished 31-of-47, passing Glenn Foley for the number one spot on BC's all-time completions list. His 315 yards passing earned him his seventh game of the season with at least 300 through the air. Up next for the Eagles, their regular season finale against Miami at the Heights, before heading to Jacksonville for the ACC Championship on December 1st.

  • @JackCAPP1 you can thank Gary Tranquill for that. He was the reason why our offense was one of the worst in the country.

  • if BC was smart enough to not use David Shinske we would have beat FLA ST and notre dame GO BC

  • i hated this guy in college...always beating my Tigers. I'm glad the Falcons got him and I hope he gets them to a Super Bowl!!!

  • matt ryan beats my favorite college team....he goes to my favorite NFL team....the smartest qb to enter the nfl since peyton manning

  • GO MATT RYAN!Go Falcons! If his career keeps going like its going. And he keeps getting better and growing as a player. He could go down as 1 of the greatest Quarterbacks of all time.

  • so tru, bc is always over rated
