@lotusflower281 it's true to a certain extent you're right. As an Irish student from Galway my Linguistics and Irish traditions lecturer always uses the Newfoundland accent as an example to the way words and accents change throughout time. Newfoundland seems to be one of the only accents where the Irish immigrants have passed along the way they spoke at the time of immigration and it appears to have stuck, as for the Gaelic, I don't think so it's a dying language in our own country unfortunately
