Interensting. Someone thought this was a Ludwig Frank oboe but it's a Loree Royal. This is what I currently play. Maybe this is why I like the Ludwig Frank Brilliant model oboe. I think it reminds me of the characteristics of the Loree Royal.

I just love this, having played oboe for 40 years and English horn almost as many, I must say this is my favorite piece of all and your performance of it SUPERB! Thank you for sharing and all the very best!

thank you for posting this, as it always helps to have a good recording/example to work from. Especially musically. :)
-
It looks more like a Loree Royale - It has the usual cristalline quality of Lorees, but has a wonderful hollow echo to it.

Absolutely lovely! My favorite movement from this piece! Your expression is just amazing.

Very expressive playing, I like it. :) Cool oboe! Loree is great!

I'm not sure they do, my current oboe is 6 years old and still going beautfully. In the past other makes seemed to blow out more quickly, but Loree are seasoning the wood for longer and longer these days. My Rigoutat had gone in 2 years, my very old Marigaux went in 5 years of solid playing. Sometimes a rebore is all that's needed!

How often do your oboes 'blow out?' - Thanks
Superb - No one can play these pieces like the English!- this is the best I have heard - I loved Janet Craxton before but this has surplanted them

Thanks so much for this, actually Janet was my teacher, and every oboist I studied with before and after her death was a student of hers. Irene Pragnell, George Caird, Celia Nicklin. All best, ND.
