A student documentary film, based on the Gentrification of Spanish Harlem "El Barrio". A community in history which played a major role on the lives of many races such as Puerto Ricans, African Americans, Mexicans, etc. Written, Shot, and edited By Myself, Rickey Turner. Credits to The Welfare Poets for allowing me to use their single "Across 110th street". We come from an environment in which we adapted into our own lifestyle. Created a community in which brothers, sisters, kin, neighbors, all were welcomed to keep culture and tradition alive. Breaking down a building not only takes away homes and memories, but also history and culture. Oppression can lead to Revolution.
