Skip to 1:38 for actual runite superheating

EDIT: This could potentially be faster with the Dungeoneering reward "Coal Bag" although I am not aware of any rates and methods using it.

In this video I show you 2 methods I know to superheat runite ore. It is arguable which one is better but I have found the first, simple, method to be more consistent but if you are able to play more accurately than me (which is most probable =P) then I would suggest you do the second method. There is a method which could possibly be used in p2p where you load a BoB with coal (for example) then superheat and smelt at the same time at Edgeville's furnace. I am really unsure if this would be worth the trouble but it is a possible alternative. Zarfot has a good video showing how to superheat and smelt ore at the same time (I will put this below)

I got the collection box idea from Spiritgerm, so I can not take any credit for the idea.

I highly recommend using screen markers and mouse keys to increase speed when superheating. Each cast is 1.2 seconds (2 game ticks). This can help you determine when to cast the next spell. You may see in the video that I do what is referred to as a 'perfect cast'- I will put this in annotations since I can't really explain it, lol. This is where the initial animation of the cast is not shown and is just a shortened down version of it. This can also be evident when alching. If you collect the banker or bank the banker before the animation starts then the ore will not smelt, so you have to get the timing right in order for this not to happen.

To cast the spell one must have an ore and the required number of coal for it:
Steel bar= 1 iron ore+2coal
Mithril bar= 1 mithril ore+4 coal
Adamantite bar= 1 adamantite ore+6 coal
Runite bar= 1 runite ore+8 coal
or if they don't require coal just the ore :)
As well as the ore (and coal) one must also have to be wielding a fire staff, steam staff or lava staff and 1 nature rune per cast.

Each cast gives 53 magic experience and the normal amount of smithing experience as would be received when smelting. I am not confident with experience rate since, same as my superheating mithril ore and adamantite ore videos, I wasn't superheating accurately due to lag from making the video. I generally go at an average rate of 7 seconds (for method 1) and 24 seconds (for method 2) between bankings, therefore 1500 runite bars per hour (rounded to the nearest 100) - however i am not exactly a very fast player :p Other ores will vary but at fastest ~1900 mithril bars, ~1600 adamantite bars and ~1500 runite bars per hour. Therefore I can come up with the following rates per hour:
Mithril- 57k smith xp/h+100.7k magic xp/h= a total of 157.7k+xp/h
Adamantite- 60k smith xp/h+84.8k magic xp/h= a total of 144.8k+ xp/h
Runite- 75k smith xp/h+79.5k magic xp/h= a total of 145.5k+xp/h

I cannot determine loss or profit for making bars so do not ask me:p if you wish to find out just go on to the grand exchange database on runescape's website and minus the the ore, nature rune and number of coals needed for each bar prices by the bar price.

  • 1 runite = 1K profit? =)

  • @royhtc Lol wow

  • What are the required screen options to do the leave-bank-by-clicking-the-chatbox-trick?

  • @Th3Tunn3ttu Just play re-sizable or full-screen

  • @sirsalansugar Does the trick work only on spots like in where you are (click is behidn the banker), or is it doabe in 1-click-banks, like Duel Arena Bank?

Because, I've tried to do the trick in re-sizeable, but it won't work (as my char walks to the clicked spot)

  • @Th3Tunn3ttu Watch my video titled "Efficient Soul Wars Banking Method+Herb Cleaning" and read the description. Regarding your character walking, you should aim to click somewhere where it cannot walk.

  • Another good tip for continued banking is just 2 use a 1 click bank like castle wars or clan wars for f2p!
