Im a stokie born and bread as are my family for generations.Im proud as punch to be a stokie and proud of our history and heritage and roots but times are changing and stoke is now (& has been for a long time) a sinking ship and if you want the best for your kids with regards to opportunites etc you will get out as soon as you can.There are no jobs here , its run down and opportunitys are few and far between Im leaving soon, doesnt mean i wont be forever a stoke lad but I dont live here any more

If u aren't happy with stoke there's trains that leave often enough it's that attitude that' drags a community down if your unhappy with your surroundings then change them or at least help

Stoke must be doing something right when you look at some of the famous people who have come from here:
Lemmy from Motorhead, Slash from Gun's 'n' Roses, Sir Stanley Matthews the footballer, Josiah Wedgewood the pottery maker and Reginald Mitchell, who could arguably be a man who had the greatest hand in us winning the Battle of Britain.
... oh, and a Stokie sank the Titanic but we don't brag about that one as much... and we try to forget about Robbie Williams.
