  • It's great to be reminded that antiwar sentiments were considered so mainstream at the time that they could be expressed by a big-draw star like Cher. Can anyone even imagine that happening today? It's also cool to remember the strong influence that traditional Indian music had on the music of the time.

  • I fail to understand your point! Freedom of Speech, where do you get to determine what is disrespectful? I guess that as long as we voice our opinion and refelct the popular view it is okay. I wonder today how many of those that burned the cds of The Dixie Chicks are ashamed they voted for Bush. Looking at the percentage of folks that agree with Mr. Bush less than 35% of polled Americans I would say a great deal. Thanks You for your opion not popular but yours none the less!!!

  • Nirvana brought me here :DD

  • cher doesnt have the right to sing that song sorry to say :)

  • It is considered anti-American not to voice your opinion, but to do it in a disrespectful and useless way. The Dixie Chicks did exactly that.

I'll agree that not many mainstream singers produce anti-war songs these days. However, I submit that that's simply because none of them are deep or thoughtful enough to come up with something like that.

  • I think this person meant that not many mainstream singers sing protest songs anymore. A lot of music of the 60's and 70's were aimed at changing the world. Now you listen to the radio and has nothing like that. Also, not many celebrities touch on the subject of war because it is considered anti-American to voice your opinion during this war. Look at the Dixie Chicks. Protest songs these are from artists like Avenged Sevenfold who critize people who are anti-war.

  • You're not serious, are you? Right now, can you find a single pro-war celebrity or movie from Hollywood?

  • How can such a pretty song be soo sad?

    CHER Does that...once AGAIN

    AMAZING
