Arkansas River in CO Bighorn Sheep Canyon Three Rocks Rapid

This rapid was too tough for a group of US Airforce Academy boaters. June 18, 2008. Lots of folks, including myself, went down in this rapid.

Yes, it was!! I didn't feel so bad about my performance after they didn't make it through either!

i just went down this at 3000 cfs and we hit the last rock but didn't flip and our guide saw the video of us and said the we are one lucky boat

if your really good, take that massive hole above the rapid on the filmaker's left. if you don't flood your raft you got it made, otherwise watch the video again and that is what happens

i took that same rapid in high water in what we called the cadillac(a 17' self bailer) and flipped it on the middle fall. thats what i get for taking it sideways

i guided this. take that far river left chute...the hole in the center is about 10 feet deep just to give you some perspective
