@Tenraiden. Did you actually READ my comment? Math works in conjunction with other aspects of education. It doesn't exsist in a vaccum! Math is an important building block of a COMPLETE EDUCATION! You also need other aspects like English and Speech to to get ahead as well. To make my point one more time you need A COMPLETE EDUCATION FROM ALL ASPECTS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA ON HOW THE WORLD WORKS!

@originalrhombus. Yes, this discussion was unfortunate. I never intended for this to happen. My comment was to show that math doesn't exist in a vaccum. You need other aspects of learning to get ahead in life. But the person responding to my comments was rude and narrow minded. But anything in life takes discipline and practice. That's how I got through graduate school. Also, I apply this method to my lesson plans.

This discussion is unfortunate, since this video is aimed at visible minorities and is intended to encourage. Yes, math is a challenge, but people don't give themselves enough of a chance, nor enough credit. More people can be good at math than think so (and yes, I am talking about multivariate calculus and advanced linear algebra and differential equations!). It just takes patience, discipline and practice.
