If your statement were true that the pope gets his authority from the Word of God the Bible, then that makes your previous comments regarding homosexuality nonsense, because as I said, having sexual thoughts towards someone not your wife/husband is a sin against God....if the pope was reading his Bible then he would know this and so would you !!

@MamaMario13 ..IF I understand what you are attempting to say, is that you can have homosexual thoughts without comitting the act of sodomy and that is ok, may I remind you that God judges our thoughts and considers lust (sexual thoughts with someone not your wife/husband) equal to adultery.
The roman catholic church needs to read and obey the word of God and cease from making up rules to suit itself. Rome is not the final authority on anything ...The word of God (the bible) is!

@daleyboy77 homosexuality is not sin: SODOMY is sin. The catholic church maintains that one can be born with a gay gene and have homosexual desires but still be celibate and therefore holy. That is different from what you protestants say but us catholics do not deny that sexual orientation is genetic.

@SayerOfTheLaw21 That really show how little you know about reproduction. We all start out as girls and develop into boys. Because of bad agricultural nutrience nowadays more children are developed either under developed males or over developed females that never made the physical changes to male. There are also tonnes of other issues associated to the same developmental process. That is 100% proven scientific fact as well as traumas and abused substances in parents. Please know before posting

I believe that religious zealots have the right to hate anyone they want to. I just wish they'd stop cherry picking from their best seller, choosing only the things they really like and disregarding the other "sins". They hardly ever say that the "bible" tells them not to eat shrimp, to murder misbehaving children and to own slaves. There are literally thousands of these ancient nutter rules, laws and commandments in their edited, re-edited and re-edited "bible".
