Excellent tutorial. High quality, non-destructive technique that produces visually appealing results (unlike 90% of the d&b tutorials on youtube). Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you. Personally I'd love to see really advanced tutorials (and I think you can deliver). I'm tired of all the beginner stuff.

Around minute 4:15 you go into the 'smart object in raw mode' -- how do you actually do that? Your window just sort of magically appears (and mine did not of course) so I missed all the preliminary settings. Thanks :)

@sofiaaveril Because the source is a raw file, the image opens in camera raw mode. This only works if your source is RAW (not jpeg) and you have it opened in Photoshop as a smart object layer.

I'm really interested to know what your steps were for the rest of this image. I got dodging and burning down. But your final image has some other work done to it. Seems like it has more of a graphic look, almost cartoonish.

@FourT6and2 All retouching in the final image was achieved with dodge and burn techniques demonstrated, however I do use a tablet monitor to do it which makes it a bit easier for me.
