Unilateral (one-sided) nasal discharge in a child shoud raise the suspicion of foreign body impaction. There may be accompanying vestibule, philtrum, or supralabial skin excoriations. This child presented with right-sided nasal discharge in the absence of sorethroat or upper respiratory tract infection. Suspicious material was found after nasal cleaning/suction performed and proved tobe a foreign body (a tamarind seed). It was removed in the clinic as an office procedure by using a blunt hook instrument without any complicaiton. The child recovered well after a course of antibiotic given.
