A long long time ago
I can still remember
How those people used to make me smile
And I knew that I'd have my chance
To go and make those people laugh
So maybe they'd cheer up for a while

But August 7th made me shiver
With every goodbye I'd deliver
Sad new on my mind
I couldn't stop my crying

I can remember that I smiled
When we sang for one last time
Our favorite song we all knew
The day, that camp died

Don't jump the wall

And them good old kids were sleeping on time

Do you remember the portico wall
And did you forget the kids in you hall
Because they haven't called you in a while
Do you remember color wars
Can pictures save our mourning soul

Cause I saw you laying in the field
We all rolled down the hill
Man I forgot the thrill

And on that day, my world shook
A blue lanyard and a yearbook
I knew that that day would suck
The day, that camp died

Now for one month we've been on our own
Staying up and sleeping in
But that's not how it used to be
When lights out was at 10:30
And we woke up real early
When it was time to go to class

And when our RA turned around
Swang your lanyard round and round
Key hit you in your head
Now your forehead's red
And while the RA's played some cards
You realized there were no guards
You flew over the wall
The day, that camp died

Sleeping in the summer heat
Activities could not be beat
The HUB was our relief
With food and drinks for us to eat
And every day we got up at 8
The pole vaulters made us wait

While four square was half the fun
Flying frisbees fell and rung
We all got up for class
But camp went by so fast
The black team tried to scream real loud
While the red team stood big and proud
The green team was in a cloud
The day that camp died

With fake money and a night to spend
I lost it all to blackjack again
The loan shark has money to lend
And as we walk, the though persists
Then it struck me, camp is bliss

And as I watched my friends perform
I saw pictures of the thunderstorm
They flowed through my head
As we made the field our bed
And as they sang the Moravian Song
My foot stated tapping along
I sang the lyrics all wrong
The day, that camp died

I met a kid with a rubix cube
And he asked me what the heck to do
I just smiled and turned away
I went out to the sacred porch
Where four square was days before
But the boy said the ball had torn

And in the streets, the kids were crying
Teary eyed and full of surprise
Camp was actually over

And the three people I admire most
Jonna, Will , and our favorite host
They watched us leave for the coast
The day that camp died
