Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga - Metatron

Metatron, in my opinion, is one of the coolest looking bosses in the game, but he's also one of the simplest to beat...with the right skills of course.

He starts off tame enough, just casting maragidyne and mahamaon, which he uses way too often, so null expel is a given for this battle. He also has Revelation, so having null mute set will help out too.

After taking a fair chunk of his HP off, he starts using his ultimate attack, Fire of Sinai, which is an almighty attack and can hit a member several times. It doesn't help that he casts makakaja and mind charge before using it too, so have someone use dekaja on him immediately after he does this.

His biggest weakness is his inability to use dekaja. He only uses this rarely, so boost yourself up with any -kaja spell you want (I went for maka and raku.) He's a bit better at casting dekunda, but when he starts using Fire of Sinai, he seems to forget that too, so debilitate him as well.

With your defence and his attack power down, Fire of Sinai is nowhere near as dangerous as before. With this done, you should take him out pretty easily.
