On the road this morning, not finding all that much significant damage. WZAR came across lots of debris on the road, and significant flooding of local creeks, including this one right across from Boyertown Junior High East. Rt. 73 and 663 just near the Gilbertsville Wawa are currently shut down. When it comes to the major roads going through our area, that's all we were able to find. There will of course be many closures on back roads and small bridges throughout the area. Probably the most significant thing we came across was on West Philadelphia Avenue, just near the center of Boyertown, where a large tree branch fell onto a vehicle. Emergency responders were working to remove the tree. This is the same place where a larger tree had fallen just after midnight last night, nearly blocking the road.
While damage may not have been as severe as expected in our area, other areas can be more dangerous, and there are still hazards, including flooding, potential for downed wires, and the possibility of weakening tree brances falling. Montgomery County Officials are requesting for residents to stay in their homes, but if you need to go out, obviously, use caution.
