@BishopOcelot That's because he missed Joe. And Marlo was kind of a bitch- the only person he killed was that woman, and even then he had Chris to back him up. Vondas was a cold-hearted fucker, but he still had principles.

@adErsante The greeks realized what Joe didn't--Marlo was going to kill Joe anyway, no matter what they said. Marlo would have taken lower quality dope so he could be the king. If the greeks had said no, Marlo would have killed Joe and then come back. By signing off on the hit, they were in a position where Marlo felt some degree of gratitude toward them, as opposed to Marlo coming back to the diner and saying, "Joe's dead, here are my terms if you want to wholesale in Baltimore."
