  • yes u can,but its always better to model your base mesh in an external application like max or maya and model this shapes on your base model , if u dont do that you need to add alot of resolution to your mesh so it wont brake when u try to model this stuff

  • Is it possible to make horns/ wings from normal head or sphere without using a base mesh?

  • I just overflew the video... but what I got from this: is this guy doing this whole model just by using the Sculpt, wax and smooth tool?!

    Great skill!

  • @kiviplz Saying that it has no need for those tools seem short sighted. Even if I modeled in mudbox I would simply return to Max for retopo. Having concepting tools would make it better as a standalone program and make it more competitive with the likes of 3Dcoat and Zbrush, which seems to be everyone's favorite sculpting solution these days.

  • @Geoxile mudbox has no need for these tools. mudbox is used for the autodesk pipeline, applications such as maya or max can be used to create low poly base meshes which can then be transferred directly into mudbox for further detailing.

  • @hensun91 Yea, I tried the student version... Too bad, those kind of building blocks can be useful for concepting basic shapes

  • @Geoxile IT doesnt have anything like zspheres, but there are bases meshes. e.g. box, head, human body ect..

  • @AfterEffectsLova I knew it because YouTube allows me to upload them... lol

  • Does Mudbox 2011 have tools to start from scratch like Zbrush's spheres or 3D Coat's voxel shapes?

  • What's the cost of animation if poly counts high, would geometry detect errors, say you built a planet at insane quality but clouds and such were moving in high quality what would suffer.
