Guy Lafleur scores one of the most famous goals in Stanley Cup Playoff history, late in the 3rd period against Boston. The goal tied this Game 7 Semi-Final match 4-4, which Montreal eventually won in overtime on a goal by Yvon Lambert. But the Canadiens came precariously close to getting eliminated. Poor Gilles Gilbert...and poor Don Cherry.

guy lafleur was a very good hockey player,Gretzky holds @ shares 54 NHL records.Every one likes to hate greatness but the fact is he has more carreer Assits than anyone has in carreer points. His nhl record of 163 assit in a single season is more than anyone has in points in a season Except for M.Lemeuq.so weather you hate him or love him he is the greatest hockey player all time.

I love how the goalie falls down as if he got blasted by a shotgun. Must havve been the reality of giving that up.

To be fair, the players today have the benefit of more advanced knowledge in fitness training, nutrition, medical science, and technology (ie, access to treadmills). Did you know that players in the 70s weren't even allowed to drink water during the game? Let's see today's players play a game without water!!

He wouldn't be scoring goals from there that's for sure. And lets face facts here. Back then Lafleur had hapless teams to play against like the Kings, Penguins, Seals, Barons, Capitals, Scouts and Red Wings where scoring 10 goals in a game was a given against these pitiful teams.

And your point is what exactly? That Lafleur would score only 5 goals if he played today?

Oh please. A slap shot from just inside the blue line with no screen? Any NHL goalie today who can't stop that wouldn't even be in the AHL.
