This is Jeanna's Light installed in a wooden box. The video shows how the circuit pieces fit into the box and the amount of light that the device produces with one 10 watt CFL or two super bright white LEDs. My excellent assistant "Dewey" helps out in this video.

  • Resonance is when a combination of an inductor and capacitor are connected in series or parallel. I'm looking for a capacitor in your circuit. I don't see one.

  • about how many lumens does this CFL put out on high ?

it looks like at least a 100 or 200 lumens or so .

  • is the transistor in the video TIP3055 15 A 60V?? thanks

  • Thank you, Thank you, thank you, and thank you for this Video :-)

Your Bright LIght is a Blow to all EVIL, and Misunderstood Shipples....:-) Thank you for this Wonderfull Video.......

  • @Lidmotor

That's been an issue with allelectronics, they stock surplus parts so when its gone, its gone. I can order parts from them in one month and not be able to reorder the same parts on the next month.

  • Where on earth did you buy that toroid?

    I can't find one anywhere!

  • I really wonder how Marko Rodin's coil would perform in applications like these or with Earth Batteries.

  • Where did you buy the, 3 1/4" toroid?

Okay you're running it from a 1.5v Battery,

can you measure exactly what is actually going into the light?

Does the joule thief simply supply whatever voltage is necessary?

In the LED set ups, does the amperage change with the voltage change?

  • how about putting it next to the same CFL on mains power to compare brightness? I am a bit curious about this.. thanks
