haha. I love this nurse. He says the things we nurses can't without getting reprimanded. XD

and then abusing those resources in some way, either literally with verbal or physical abuse, or just with the unrealistic expectations that those resources will bend over backwards to completely smooth out the wrinkle in that person's life that any normal functioning adult should be able to, and in fact should do themselves.

Some PTs just won't care for themselves, just don't get it. And where DO ppl get the idea that the hospital exists to fluff pillows and serve tea?

Seems like 9/10 people who come to the ER want a pillow almost immediately and need to have a bowel movement.. no kidding.

Is it anyone else's experience that showing this video to non-nurses is somewhat . . . disappointing? Saying that, EVERY nurse I've shown loves it.

@arnethebanana Humour works best when you can relate to it.

Some people these days are just so stupid. "I used to take aspirin and medication for my cholestoral and blood pressure but I stopped" Nurse:"what on earth prompted you to stop?" "I felt better." I wouldn't be surprised if people actually walked in a hospital and said stuff like that. The only reason they're feeling better is because the medicine is supposed to make them feel better. Do some people honestly take medication only until they feel better then think they no longer need it?

@FlyingT1ger Yes, part of our job is spending tediously long amounts of time trying to educated people that health problems are life changing and that there is no 'cure' but rather indefinite use of a medication to correct a chemical or biological malfunction. I understand that it sucks and that it's unfair but it could be worse. 50-70 years ago, many of these things that we can now treat with indefinite medication would have killed most people within 5 years before we knew how to treat it.
