If I ever won, I would contact an attorney first and foremost and claim the winnings in a blind trust so that I would not be harrassed as much. I would help people anonymously. I would help people I know but anonymously if possible. I am sure that my family, who largely abandoned me during my hard times (and my divorce...I couldn't even get anyone to call me and chat!), would all of a sudden be real friendly. Forget that mess!

I would hire a an attorney and set up a blind trust immediately. There's too many crazy people out there and other than the winners being broke within ten year and being addicted to drugs and alcohol a lot of the winners are killed within a few years by newfound enemies. The officials shouldn't demand for people to reveal their identities. That's a death sentence.

The better questions are: Did he buy his mother a house while he was spreading his riches, Did he provide for the son he had out of wedlock? (doubt it) and why did he invest so much trust in this woman that he barely knew? This was a man that had won millions and spent the bulk of it on others and not one penny on an education. He had a heart of gold and vultures took advantage of that. Sad, sad story. For so many reasons.
