Obama Pushes for India in U.N. Security Council

President Barack Obama addressed India's parliament today, saying the two countries will work together to root out terrorism. Obama also added that he will endorse India's bid for a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council. (Nov. 8)

@CarpreDiemPrime Gitmo imprisoned people who may or may not have been terrorists. It wasn't a prison, it was a holding cell. That's why we processed them. Don't forget that these guys may have valuable information. But i do agree, I'd rather have India on the UNSC than some of the other countries on it. Better yet, i'd rather they get rid of permanent seats all together.

You already have 3 European powers on UNSC (Russia, UK, France), so pretty much China represents all the Asian, African, and Latin America voices in the third world developing countries at UNSC.

For All Islamists, Chinese and others getting their knickers in a knot over Obama talking India in UNSC, they can untangle their panties; There is no hope in hell of India joining UNSC anytime soon; 1. Because China (having UNSC seat) will never allow this; 2. China will have gleeful support of Jihadis from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia across Islam world, who will make darn sure India & UNSC never meet. Finally, plenty of China/Islam worshippers among Europ/Pacific govts will do whatever to stop it
