  • The two main supports are 72". The prop shaft cover is 28" and the shaft itself is 17mm in diameter and 33" long. Becaerful using Spruce, I would use 7075 aluminum.

  • Are you a member of the FLPHG yahoo group? Some of the members have built some nice home-built FLPHGs. The members, flyingleek, and bontgoch both have homemade units. Dave Little, who created the Hidden Mountain harness is a regular contributing member. Peter Mack the creator of the Explorer unit is a contributing member. Ben Ashman, who created the Doodlebug (which is what I fly in NE Oklahoma) is a contributing member. There is a lot of good technical advice to be had.

  • No, I'll have to look them up. I joined a Facebook FLPHG group. I fly a mosquito, but I just bought a doodle bug! It should be here in a couple of days. How do you like yours? I also need to buy a reserve that I can attach to the doodle bug. Are you using a reserve for your bug? If so, what kind? Where are you flying at in OK? I normally fly around North Texas. I've been to Buffalo and Little Yancy. Will have to meet up and fly.

  • are u going to make me one? lol

  • Once you get out there and get your H2 ;)

  • @wmadams1 dang,.. I have long way to go then. lol. seriously I have to stop for a while. I just got brand new A/C for $8000,.. now I need to get my house foundation lifht soon another $8000... ggrrr,.. alot of loans! I havent fly yet because I have been nervous that Dave didnt put his faith in me. He is nervous because I am deaf. I just feel that I need a different instructor but there arent many out there!

  • When you get the money go back to Dave's. We'll get you flying. Let me know and I'll try to come out there the same Day so I can help.

  • Hi,

Your powered harness is very pleasent, great job!!!! I try to made the same harness in spruce:-)....Can you send me measure or shaft lenght?

Thanks a lot and goob work!!!!:-)

  • I am happy I got the doodlebug. I had spent the 3 previous summers trying to get airtime by towing in western Oklahoma, which is fun, but consumes the weekend. Now, I can drive a few miles from home (Tulsa) on a Saturday afternoon, get several hours of flight and be home for supper. I bought a Free Flight (wills wing) PDA chute designed for tandem. It mounts on my chest with the handle high, near my neck. I have several fields close by that I can fly from.
