In the early 70's to the mid 80' I worked for WEA Records (not Elton Johns label). He recorded for MCA Records at that time. However, Don't Shoot Me was a huge record for him.

Songs like this are why Elton is so great. This song - and, other than Daniel and Crockodile Rock, the rest of the album received zero airplay. This song is the most sophisticated song on the album.
