Venus and Mars at the 2010 Orlando Puppet Festival Slam

The war of the sexes plays out in elegant glove-puppeted form in Tom Blasco's latest Puppet Slam performance. He and his nimble ward, Mike Heyniger, wordlessly portray the clash between blue and pink, and the glimmer of hope that lay within purple.

Puppet Slams are a new wave of underground short-form theater that is sprouting all over the nation. They can feature any form of puppetry, and often branch into dance, stage magic, juggling, or any performative art that can be imagined.

The Orlando Puppet Festival is produced by Ibex Puppetry, an Orlando company dedicated to the production of cutting-edge puppet theatre and film.
