I find that Portnoy is in fact the correct fit for Dream Theater and nothing more. Minneman and Mangini do not fit as well. Both of the other are in fact incredible drummers. Not taking anything away there.

@uhstud68 Yes i know about Necrophagist and Kreator. About the language barrier, yes it's an issue, but until J Petrucci proves me wrong, i think that Priester won the job.

@carl13220 u do realize he was in necrophagist and kreator which are metal bands. Aquiles priester cant even speak english. language barrier lol

@jfrole1 I tottaly agree here. He cannot fill Portnoy's shoes. He seems to be a good musician, but he's a fusion/jazz drummer, and DT need a metal/rock drummer. The sure bet for Portnoy's replacement seems to be Aquiles Priester...Well that's my opinion anyway.

Great drummer but absolutely do not see Marco replacing Portnoy of Dream Theater. Not even close in comparison. I wish we could get past the bad blood and get back to the way things were. There are no better musicians collectively.
